Your name?

Rick Blackmon

Please give us a short summary of your website?

The website lists printers and printer accessories for sale. It also has informative articles on Ink cartridges, refilling of ink cartridges, and printers. There is also a blog on printers.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I am a computer geek, having been in computers since 1957. I decided to launch an estore and picked a topic with whiich I am familiar.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website was launched in February, 2008. It was http://computersprintersandmonitors.com It is an estore with computers and peripherals for sale.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The domain name was picked to include the names of our offerings.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

This website is different because of the WordPress blog and the informative articles included on each webpage as well as stand-alone articles.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My intention is to keep it for income. I might consider selling it for the right price. Right now, it is a labor of love.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

At this point, I have invested a lot of time and money with no return on investment. I expect that to change as I complete more SEO activity and climb the search engine ranking.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would hire professional writers to create targeted articles to be posted on the site.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, I am retired and have the time.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None thus far.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Challenge has been doing all of the SEO work that is required for a good ranking. In particular, getting targeted backlinks.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Proper keyword selection.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It has not moved up in the ranking as quickly as I had hoped.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The website has been up about a month. I will give it two years to develop traffic, ranking and income. If it hasn't happened in that time frame, then I would probably drop the site.

What would a visitor to my website be looking for?

I would hope a visitor would be looking for the right printer product for his needs and would find the information enabling him/her to make an informed selection and purchase.

What is your website address?

Printers and Accessories
