Please give us a short summary of your website?
This is an automated classified ad website tailored for the Printing Industry.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
This is a trade I have been involved in for about 20 years. I discovered that this trade is not represented very well on the web in terms of the new/used printing equipment marketplace.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
About two years ago. It was a multi-level-marketing website. Big mistake!
How did you decide on a name for your website?
I just researched names and settled for one that tells you what the website is all about with just two words. Very difficult, indeed!
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Easy on the eyes, easy to navigate and offers better value as compared to other offerings.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
How about just receive a steady income and build an honest reputation with my clients.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It has honestly cost me a great deal of time and resources with little return, for now anyways.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
There really is not much I would change. The website does exactly what I want it to do.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes, I intended for this website to be automated as much as possible. From placing ads to final payment, the website handles everything. I do, however oversee everything that happens on a daily basis.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The only cost and headaches are dealing with web hosts and more bandwidth, but that's probably a good thing because that means more traffic is coming my way.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Configuring the website script to work properly.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
The free search engines seem to index your website very quickly these days. I remember before the dot.com bust when it would take several weeks before any search engine would even crawl your website.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
No, I expected a slow start. Persistance will pay off.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
About two months. As long as it takes.
Will you add more products/services in the near future?
Yes, absolutely.
